When you are in Slovakia and the Liptov region, you can expect much more than just a ski resort to keep you entertained and give you the adrenalin rushes you need. There are numerous other activities on hand locally that are all well worth a visit. Bars and Restaurants are in plentiful supply and your hosts for the week can point you in the direction of the best activities for you when you require – however here is a quick breakdown of the activities that we highly recommend our guests!
Just 5 minutes away from the Town centre, the aqua park is a must for any week with us. Thermal waters of 38 degrees centigrade, water slides, mineral waters, treatments, saunas and Jacuzzi – basically anything water based you can imagine that spreads outside into the open air so you can catch the snow-flakes falling and the stars shining while kicking back with a mojito…… nice. Cost – from €19 – however you can exchange a day of your ski pass for a day in the aqua park if you decide you want to take a break from it all. If you head there during the day, you can jump on the free ski bus – Check the times on the piste map.
Release the Lewis Hamilton in you and get a group together for a bit of a Slovak go-karting experience. Open in the evenings and around 5 minutes from the main chalet, the go kart track combines the petrol head needs alongside a couple of pool tables up above. Cost is around €6 for an 8 minute session and well worth a couple of races.
Depending on the time of the year, a Hockey game is a must see for anyone, not just the sports fans. The locals really know how to get involved with the chants and atmosphere at the national sport of Slovakia. Located in the town centre, the hockey games happen most weeks throughout the season and costs almost nothing – just keep an eye out for the bottles being passed around. Costs around €3 per game in the stands.
Fancy feeling 14 years old again? The new lazer games arena in town is brilliant for a couple of hours of shooting your mates and getting the adrenalin rushing. You need a group of 6 or so to make it a proper team event. Around 5 minutes from town and €10 depending on group sizes per person.
Fancy something a little less active and some relaxation? Catch up with the latest movies in the cinema for around €6 per person with modern comfy seats and audio system.
Everyones old favourite, the bowling alley in town is well worth a visit to brush up on the skill or to embarrass yourselves. €15 per hour per lane, needs to be booked in advance during peak season. Pool tables and a bar compliment the bowling alley for those looking for something else to do.
